Bank of America-Merrill Lynch Proxy Statement:
As one of the leading financial advisory and management companies, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch markets toward a variety of groups. Among these are college students and their parents, digital consumers, and individuals and families with low-income.
To appeal to current and prospective college students, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch offers 529 Investment Plans, which are geared toward helping parents and students get a head start on educational finances. The company’s “Next Generation College Investing Plan,” which operates through Merrill Edge, is a program that’s federal and income tax-free as long as withdrawals are solely for educational costs. Bank of America-Merrill Lynch also offers several student scholarships and college budget planners.
In addition, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch concentrates on digital consumers, as it offers online and mobile banking. The company also provides customer service and information through social media. Through a downloadable application, the company allows its clients to access their banking and Merrill Edge investment accounts wherever their mobile devices have service. The app can be used for depositing checks, paying bills, transferring money and viewing transaction histories. The same services are provided on the company’s website, bankofamerica.com, which is encrypted with sitekey security and optional safepass to guarantee safe use. And as a way to connect with various clients on social media, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch has accounts with Facebook, Youtube and Twitter to provide important, current information on the company.
In terms of individuals and families with low income, Bank of America-Merrill Lynch offers “Low Income Housing Tax Credits” and an “Affordable Housing Program.” The latter accesses local community investment programs to get grants that fund housing construction or renovation for people and families with income levels below 60 percent of the medium income. Term loans for permanent financing and tax-exempt bond financing are other services the company provides for low income groups.

We live in a world that’s becoming increasingly digital every day. What was unimaginable 20 years ago is the norm today. Some of the most archaic items simply require a press of a button or an Internet connection to function. Well, I’ve taken it upon myself to bring one more archaic item to date. So, I’m starting a business directed toward producing digital calendars, also known as “DigiCals.” That’s right, I’m making calendars. And these calendars are geared essentially toward everyone age 10 and older.

Some of you are probably wondering what a DigiCal is exactly. Well, it’s certainly nothing like the piece of paper we’ve become accustomed to buying every year to post on our walls. This calendar is 12-by-24 inches, and it’s equipped with a sleek LCD touch screen. But things don’t end there. It’s also has an automatic update function, so users will never need to buy another calendar to keep up with a new year. For example, the moment this world begins year 2014, these calendars will indicate such.
DigiCals are also equipped with a “schedule and task” function, which people can use to keep track of appointments, reminders and so forth. In a nutshell, it’s similar to a planner. But it’s unique because you manage your tasks by tapping a specific day of the week. That will prompt a touch keyboard to pop up, and from there, you can type in whatever you have planned. When you’re finished, the task for that specific day will be visible under the date. And the calendar will alert you on both the day before and the day of that task by flashing or sounding an alarm, depending on your personal settings.
However, for those who may not feel like typing, DigiCals also have a video recording function through a micro camera. So, if you aren’t in the mood to type, you can just record a video reminding yourself of whatever may be approaching. And again, you’ll be alerted when that task nears. But in this case, your video will play back automatically.
Other things that set DigiCals apart from ordinary calendars are that they can also capture still images. So, for those of you who happen to like monthly decorations in traditional calendars, this might be of interest. Any picture you take on DigiCals can be used as background images to give your calendar visual appeal. They also come with preinstalled layouts for your choosing, and pictures can also be uploaded to the calendar through a USB port. In addition, DigiCals have Wi-Fi capabilities, and they can link to Facebook accounts. That way, your friends’ birthdays and events can automatically import to your calendar, if you’d like. Additional features include mp3 compatibility, a clock, a thermometer feature and 100 GB of memory. They also prompt daily fun facts about events that fall on each day of the year.
DigiCals also include features that have become a staple of traditional calendars, such as national holidays, fishing reports, moon phases and seasons.
